How to Prepare for IIT JAM 2016 Exam

Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) by IIT is not easy to crack, it needs a lot of preparation and hard-work. Since the exam is conducted to select candidates for post graduate courses in IIT and IIS, it is quite obvious that it would consist questions to test examinee's graduation knowledge. If you have studied well for the graduation exams, then your chances of getting success are brighter than others. But academic knowledge is not enough to prepare of IIT JAM exam, one must also posses problem solving skills and time management skills. One must practice enough to solve a question in minimum possible time, it's all about time when taking extremely competitive exams like Joint Admission Test (JAM).

7 tips to better prepare for IIT JAM exam

IIT JAM Preparation Tips

(1) While preparing for the subject you are appearing in, make sure to include each and every topic that has been mentioned in the exam syllabus. Complete syllabus can be found at the website of organizing institute.

(2) Solve problems asked in previous years JAM question papers, it will give you a fair idea of questions that might actually be asked. The more you solve past years question papers, more will you feel confident in the actual exam. Referring to question papers will also give an idea of which topic usually gets more weight-age and how much time one should assign for the preparation. JAM question papers of previous years can easily be downloaded from its official website.

(3) Take as many mock tests as you can to better manage time during the exam. It will help you create a strategy for time management and what topics one must attempt first that could be solved easily.

(4) If you think you can not prepare for the test yourself, it's better to join the best coaching institute for IIT JAM preparation in your area. Besides coaching classes, most institutes also provide study material and solutions of last years test papers.

(5) Never rely on one book, take reference from several books written by different authors. Ask your friends and teachers to find best books available for any subject.

(6) Make small notes of most important topics and concepts to revise topic on final day. Never ever try to learn anything new just before the exam, it might create panic and you may forget what you already know.

(7) Last but not the least, keep calm, be positive and have faith in yourself and your abilities.
